In
2003 the midget featured on this website underwent
a full restoration and updating to safely run at
speed at vintage events.
Details of that restoration are featured on this
web site.
A
SECOND FULL RESTORATION was
started July 2011 (and is presently underway) this
time to accurately depict the midget as it ran in
1983 - the year it was driven to the ARDC Championship
by the Scrivani team with Nokie Fornoro at the wheel.
Once
the current restoration has been completed this
web site will also be totally redone featuring both
the 2003 as well as
the 2011 restoration. Stay tuned.

Introduction
This
web site had been assembled to chronicle the rebirth of
a Champion. The featured 1983 Edmunds Midget was built and
campaigned by "Iron" Mike Scrivani Sr. and his
son Mike Scivani Jr. and driven to the 1983 ARDC
Championship as car #1 by Nick Fornoro Jr. The car was also
very successfully campaigned by Mike Scrivani and driven
by Hank Rogers Jr. in 1984, 86 and 87. (We are still putting
together a complete ownership / driver list).
We took possession of the car April 7, 2002 after it had
sat in a garage for many years. In August of 2003 we restored
the car and did some updating so that it could run safely
at current vintage events. A FOLLOW-UP RESTORATION is presently
underway (started July 2011) to completely restore the car
back to how it ran in 1983 when it won the Championship.
As such
we are in need of a few things namely:
-
PHOTOS OF THE CAR FROM 1983, IN PARTICULAR OF THE HOOD &
DASH
- A EARLY 1980s CARRERA COILOVER SHOCK THAT WE CAN USE AS
A TEMPLATE
- THE COVER FOR THE RR ADJUSTER
- A COMPLETE LIST OF WHO OWNED THE CAR / WHEN AND WHO DROVE
THE CAR / WHEN
Please
contact us ASAP if you can be of any assistance:

an interesting story about how we learned of the car and
came to purchase it the next morning).

You just have to see this decal in person. My decal
vendor has outdone herself. This decal is an exact
replica of the original. And this is not applied
by soaking it in water like the original, this decal
is high quality vinyl with a outdoor life of 5 -
7 years. Every vintage ARDC car should be carrying
one of these decals. I am selling these at cost,
$15.00 + shipping. I have personally paid the artwork
fee already, all you need to pay for is the generation
of the decal. We will make several at a time as
soon as enough orders come in to justify. These
are custom made. We will not be making 50 or 100
upfront.
To
inquire further about the decal, please email me,
Brian Watson at brianwatson@watsonracingteam.com
My
plan is to carry a sample with me to events so you
can see it in person. FYI - the decal is not square,
it is oval just like the original!
